The Blessed Bassets Royal Family As you'll see below, we love our dogs. They all have their special personalities and quirks. We have bios on all our adult breeding dogs, so that you can get to know the parents of your new puppy.And we also like to brag on our babies. So without further ado we present...  the Royal Family! DUKES Harlow's Bravehearted Fred [Male, Tri-Color] Fred is a super smart dog (star of his obedience class). He's definitely our alpha-male, leader of pack and all the dogs know it. He's also a sweetie and a pretty big boy. In the summer he loves to "swim" in his wading pool and dunk his face under. Harlow's Hunky Hank Male, Tri-Color. Hank is our biggest boy (and he is big at 65 lbs.) and our biggest lap-baby. He doesn't know he can squish you. Hank is very, very laid back. Harlow's Bonus Rudy Romeo [Male, Mahogany & White] Rudy loves all the girls ALL the time. He has the sweetest disposition and is always happy and always running. Rosalie's Gabriel [Male, Tri-Color] Son of Hank and Wilma. He is pictured in the top left corner of all the pages of our website (as a puppy). He has always been a great big boy with big slobbery jowls. He loves the couch and loves to greet everyone. He also loves our cats. (owned and spoiled to death by our daughter, Rosalie) . Harlow’s Whimsical Wally [Male, Red and White] Son of Tess and Gabriel, brother of Phoebe. Wally is a big, slobbery sweetheart of a Basset. He is very laid back like his father Gabriel and grandfather Hank. As a puppy he was so irresistible, we had to keep him. And he still is. As you can see in the picture above, he stole his mom's hair elastic from her arm because he is such a character.  He has a singular talent – he is the only Basset Hound we have that whistles for his food. Duchesses Harlow's Sweet Zoee [Female, Red & White] Zoee is our alpha female and is the real leader of the pack (Fred just thinks he is). She keeps everyone in line and knows how to scold. Zoee is a big girl (and would be bigger if not on diet food). She also loves to be a mama  even when she is not pregnant. Zoee is a great tracker and always lets us know when a rabbit (or any animal) is near. She is a real "character" and very, very nosey. Harlow's Freckled Angel [Female, mahogany & white] Angel is our biggest girl (and has been very big since a puppy). She is a shy, retiring girl and loves to hang out with Zoee. She tries to be everyone's second Mom (to Zoee) and can be bossy too. A very gentle and sweet girl. Harlow's Prima Contessa [Female, open Tri-color with lots of freckles] We call her Tess. Her parents are Fred & Zoee...the two alpha dogs  so there is nothing subtle about Tess. She is into everyone's business, but always has a smile on her face. She loves having her picture taken. Very playful with everyone and a very loving girl. Harlow's Alluring Annabelle [Female, lemon & white] Annabelle is a true lemon (born all white). Her parents are Rudy and Angel. Annabelle is the peacemaker...she loves all the dogs especially the puppies. She takes them under her wing. Very kind and obedient and not a bit shy. Harlow's Enchanting Estella [Female, Tri-color] Estella is black, tan and white a very pretty combination. She is a superior tracker and is always at the fence eager to get the cats and rabbits on the other side. She also can be a sweet lap baby and loves kisses. Harlow’s Phenomenal Phoebe [Female, Red and White] Phoebe is from the same litter as Wally born in September 2006 from Tess and Gabriel. We fell in love with them and could not let them go. Just like her mother Tess and grandma Zoee, she is very nosey and loves to provoke and play with everyone, especially her brother Wally. She is definitely a “Velcro-basset” she has to stick around her owners all the time. Harlow’s Stupendous Sunshine [Female, Red and White] Sunshine is a fourth generation Blessed Basset. Her parents are Annabelle and Wally, and her grandparents are Tess & Gabriel and Angel & Rudy, her great-grandparents Zoee & Fred and Wilma & Hank. She is rambunctious and has her father's mischevious spirit. She thinks she is one of the big dogs already. Nannies We have three nanny dogs (neutered). We bought these girls as puppies but due to physical appearance or limitations, we decided not to breed them. But we love them and are very attached to them so they are our nannies...everyone's friend. Harlow's Precious Polka Dot [Female, red & white]---dot on her head. She is a total lover of a girl. She also is the only Basset  we have that will fetch and she makes you throw her toy to fetch every day. She and Rudy are buddies. Harlow's Dynamite [Tri-color, female]. We call her Dinah because as a baby she was so hyper.  She is very chubby (and even diet food has not helped). But she loves to run  and play anyway...just a super sized girl. She and Hank are best pals. Harlow's Winsome Wilma [Female, Tri-color] Wilma is Fred's sister. Wilma is the very sweetest and gentlest of all the girls. She is just a love. Upon meeting you she will roll over for a tummy rub. Wilma has had 3 gorgeous litters, but due to glaucoma that took her right eye, we decided not to breed her anymore. She loves hanging out in the house with us. Lastly, we can't forget to mention our faithful friend Betsy. Betsy is our old country dog...she is NOT a Basset Hound. She doesn't even like the Basset Hounds but we love her. You will see her running around our place !!  Just so you know she is not a Basset.
