Newest Testimonials from 2011 litters:
Tank and Tulip are around 60 lbs and still growing. Tank is heavier than his sister and I can feel it when I pick them up to put them in the bathtub! Tulip had to have her hernia fixed but other than that their health has been great. Tank is a sweetheart and a push-over for his sister. She loves to steal his toys and treats so I have to buy lots of extras!! He still groans when you give him a bath or if you stop loving on him. :) He's great at a game we call "nice to meet ya'" which is shaking hands. Tulip is a bit more spunky than her brother. She as I said loves to steal from her brother and plays "fetch" well. She also likes to play chase but still doesn't like to take a bath. Both dogs get along beautifully with the cat. They sleep with the cat and he likes to bring them presents i.e.critters he has caught ! The kids and dogs are the best of friends. They play together during their recess time and even when other kids are over. Tank and Tulip are just kids too!! Jan. 2012

Isabel, 39 LBS., 4 months old. Purina One Puppy Chow has been good to Isabel!!! She has the run of the house and if there are any limbs on the ground outside then they are inside thanks to Isabel.
She does just what you tell her to if she wants to. She goes to Larry’s side of the bed each morning between 5
& 6 a.m. wakes him up, they go get the newspaper, put fresh water & food down and then back to bed to read the paper. Jan. 2012 @ 4 months old
Melody and Larry R., Tyler, Tx.
I have to add a little story here. Melody had called to talk to me about a puppy and it was clear to me what a precious lady she was when she told me of keeping her previous Basset alive despite it having kidney disease as a pup. That puppy had died after two years of wonderful care a few months before. She was so needing another Basset. She went on my list to wait but shortly after that I had a last minute cancellation on Phoebe's litter and called her about the puppy. She was thrilled but needed to talk to her hubby first. I have been involved in many Basset surprises for family members, etc. but never one quite like this. Melody's husband Larry called me back (without Melody's knowledge) to say that he definately wanted the puppy but please would I tell her when she called back that someone else from her same town had called and gotten the puppy and maybe she could visit it there someday ....and then say his name. I had to be pretty convinced that Larry regularly pulled these kind of tricks on his wife, but they had been married a long time so I trusted him on this. But it was hard for me to pull off. When Melody called I went through the little charade, when I told her that the puppy was chosen I heard a terrible gasp and I very quickly said her husbands name...she said. " how can someone have the same name
as my husband and get my puppy?" ....to which I replied VERY quickly...."it is your husband, the puppy is FOR you." Well Melody told me that at that moment she was about to have a heart attack or something !! I blamed her hubby for it all. Isabel is a very, very loved and spoiled gal. She goes to the office each day with Larry and Melody and receives a load of love and attention. Such a sweet family !!

Beau was the next step in our relationship to say the least. Ari and I had been happily together for 5 years and weren't quiet ready for kids when we decided we needed to have a dog. Following the wise words a good friend once told me. We searched for the perfect breed and when we finally decided on a Basset Hound (although neither of us had ever owned one and as hard it is to believe hardly seen any either) but we had read enough and did our homework to know that this was the breed for us. The search continued for the perfect breeder and we luckily came across your Blessed Bassets website and upon that moment we knew this was destined in the stars and that we would soon have the newest member of our family. We have never come across anybody with a better story about how they got their fur-baby than our own.
We enjoyed and appreciated being part of the life of our puppy with each an every email update you send
us... from the day that Annabelle and Grundy were bred to the wonderful day our little bundle of terror was born. With every update you send us each week of his first weeks of life we were reaffirmed that we had selected the right breeder. By the time Beau and his litter-mates were ready for us to go see them, we had already fallen in love with them and couldn't wait to bring one home. We had our mind made up that we were going to choose a Mahogany and white female dog, but ended up with a tri-colored male and we wouldnt change him for the world, lol. As hard as it is to believe, we even looked forward to our two 9hr trips we made to select him and then again to bring him home with us when he was ready to go and we would do it again in a heart beat. Bonnie, we can't thank you enough for our Beau, we cant even imagine ourselves without him, honestly.
Beau was all black when we brought him home and then he became a true tri, lol. The brown just started creeping in on him but it has made him a really handsome stud, his browns are still going strong. We always get compliments on how beautiful and gorgeous he is and where we got him from. He is healthy as can be and has had no health issues. As of today, approaching his 11 months of life he is currently a mere 52.6lbs and rather small for his breed I would think. He is the sweetest and best dog we have ever owned. His personality is fantastic, he is extremely loyal and charismatic and friendly! He is the first dog to greet all the other dogs at
our local dog park, that should give you an idea. He is our litttle dora the explorer because he wants to know and be part of everything, always wants to know what you are up to and where you are going. There has never been 1 day that he has not been over joyed to see us, even when we have scolded him for chewing up his diaper or doing another no-no. Your suggestions on reading Cesar Millans books have made all the difference in him. He is a well behaved dog when he wants to, lol or when he knows you are serious business or when he
smells the treat in your pocket. I cannot begin to tell you the many stories that we have of our little guy and how he has made our day or made us laugh etc. He immediately learned how to sit, lay down, get up, stay, go. He knows who his daddy and mommy are, he knows to immediately retreat to his room (spoiled has his own room)when you ask him "Beau what did you do?". He half knows to roll over, lol and loves to play dead all the time. We want to expand his training so he should start his beginner classes @ our local Petsmart this
weekend, decided it would be fun although we really think he doesn't need it too much.

Funniest Story: So when we first brought him home we had mistakenly selected a different type of dog food than what you had suggested to us and what he is currently on...to say the least one night we were woken up because the smoke alarm went off and there was no sign of smoke anywhere, the only thing that filled the air was...well lets just say I had to change his diaper. Makes us laugh all the time, poor little guy, after switching to Blue Buffalo we have no repeated instances. He likes to stand up on his hind legs whenever we are using the PC or sitting in the living room using our laptop and he will nudge his head under our arm for us to hug him. Once we hug him and remove are arm he will repeat the first steps as much as necessary. Another gesture of his
personality that keeps us amused. So Beau has his own facebook page and has over 425+ Basset Hound friends, he has more friends than Ari and I put together, lol. He also has his own Youtube channel where we showcase his latest "tantrums" or "Basset Stampedes" that he decides to do at 2 am in the morning. Everyone is
more than welcome to stop by and say hi... www.facebook.com/BeauBassetHound and
